How to transfer Pamela settings to another PC

Generally it is quite easy to transfer the settings of Pamela as all settings are in XML files. This is the case if you are using Pamela 2.0 or newer. You will only need to copy two folders from the old computer to the new one and your settings and data is copied. If you are still using Pamela 1.x then install the 2.5 or 3.0 version and it will convert the registry based settings automatically to the new XML based format.

To copy the settings do the following steps. There are two folders you need to move over to the new system.

Folder 1 (Settings): Make sure you can see hidden files and directories. Open "Document and Settings" for the user and click on "Applicatation Data". There are two, one of them usually has a lot of folders and that is the one you need. You will see a directory called "PAMELA". Copy that entire directory over to the new computer to the same location.

Folder 2 (Data): In "My Documents" on the desktop there is a folder called "Pamela". Copy that entire folder to the new computer.

After that to you can start Pamela on the new computer and all settings and data will be present as they where on your other system. Make sure though you install the same Pamela version.
